Human fNIRS recordings: a numerical coverage check, no decoding

OpenNeuro ds007420 · multi-distance fNIRS: fNIRS results

OpenNeuro ds007420 holds multi-distance, high-density fNIRS over the motor cortex from 12 healthy adults during a resting-state task, ball squeezing with both hands, and a motion-artifact task of six instructed movements (head tilts, raised eyebrows and saying “hello”), with accelerometer recordings. Released in BIDS format by Shibo Zhou, De’Ja Rogers, David A. Boas, Meryem A. Yücel and Yuanyuan Gao under CC0; the dataset asks users to acknowledge Gao et al., Neurophotonics (2023). Only a label-independent numerical check of its optical values is run here.

Counts only: they say nothing about signal quality, neural origin or decoding. No classifier score exists: the task codes have no verified lookup to hands or movements, and the event durations disagree — 1.0 s in the events table, 10.0 s in the optical files, 5.0 s in the cited paper.
